This commentary examines the use of internet and video technology by Islamic fundamentalist groups such as al-Qaida. The author discusses a 16-minute videotape posted by al-Qaida on a jihadist website, which features a "top ten" of anti-American terrorist attacks in Iraq. He argues that in its quest to become a world movement that goes beyond geographical borders, al-Qaida is increasing its use of mass media to inspire its supporters and demoralize its enemies. As such, the internet is making al-Qaida more of an "unseen enemy" than ever before.
