Taking into account speculation on the "possible impending collapse" of the current world order, this report critically examines the concept of memes and dynamic thought as forces of rational and irrational social change. Specifically, the author considers the impact of dynamic thought in static vs resilient societies and how these societies transform themselves to adapt to foreign ideas. The article compares the experience of transformation in Arab and European societies.
