Indian External Affairs Minister S M Krishna’s visit to Israel in January 2012 was an important political effort on the part of the two governments to further consolidate the burgeoning bilateral relations in the fields of economy, defense, and people-to-people contacts. According to the author, high-level political and strategic engagement is essential to better understand each other’s concerns regarding difficult foreign policy issues as well as conserve the momentum in the bilateral ties for mutual benefit.
