This report provides information on India's northeastern states and the extensive government efforts to further develop the region and integrate it into the Southeast Asian hemisphere. The author describes how the northeastern states hold great importance for India as they represent the key for achieving closer integration and gaining greater economic access to the other Southeast Asian nations.
