This report provides information on the maritime security strategy of the Australian government following the re-election of Prime Minister John Howard. The report describes all the individual components of the revised Australian security plan but questions whether the steps taken and the measures implemented will be enough. The author states that Australia must improve maritime security at home as well as abroad through international cooperation and regional training programs, in particular through joint efforts with the Southeast Asian nations.
