The articles in this edition of the CTTA focus on 1) the impact of the so-called Islamic State’s ideology in South Asia, including its role in the spread of Salafi-jihadism in urban areas; 2) how violent-extremist groups distort Islamic theological doctrines to further their recruitment efforts and legitimize other activities; and 3) Cameroon’s Anglophone crisis, including how escalating violence has emerged in the country following protests over the marginalization of its English-speaking minority.
