This paper analyses the costs and efforts required to implement the Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA) in Singapore and to transform the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) into an advanced Third Generation (3G) fighting force. The author states that in order to achieve a successful strategic transformation, the SAF will need to not only invest in expensive, next generation military systems and equipment, but also achieve a general structural and organizational overhaul.
