This publication provides a summary of the facts and data to be found in SIPRI's 847-page "Yearbook 2003: Armaments, Disarmament and International Security". The main connecting theme of the 2003 edition is the impact and consequences of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 on international politics. Other issues examined include NATO and EU Enlargement, developments in unmanned aircraft, international arms transfers, landmine destruction efforts, and the nuclear confrontation in South Asia.
