This brief evaluates the effect of cross-Line of Control (LoC) Confidence Building Measures (CBM) on India-Pakistan relations. More specifically, the authors report on a three-week field study researching cross–LoC people-to-people contact and trade. The authors argue that the cross-LoC contacts will go a long way in improving India-Pakistan relations.
