This brief discusses China’s territorial claim to the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh and the unresolved border dispute with China in the eastern sector. The author suggests three plausible explanations for the increase in China’s aggressive postures in India’s eastern sector. The brief ends with a few policy recommendations for India to consider.
