This brief discusses India's abstention in the UN Security Council Resolution 1973 to take action against Gaddafi's regime. To do this, the author first looks at the Libyan crisis and the stand of the UNSC members and then elaborates on the reasons for India's abstention arguing that the abstention cannot be viewed as opposition to the resolution.
