This paper discusses the link between violence in schools and armed conflict between the government and guerrilla organizations in Colombia. The author argues that countries experiencing or emerging from violent conflict often exhibit higher levels of violence in schools. This is because conflict normalizes violence in society and increases the vulnerability of those already at risk of being targeted.
