This is a background reference document on climate finance for Africa, prepared for the APF Special Session on Climate Change in Addis Ababa, 3 September 2009. It states that while the Clean Development Mechanism has been successful in generating emissions reduction projects in several developing countries, it should be reformed to improve applicability for Africa.
