The contributions in this paper shed light on various aspects of the changes occurring in the Arab world. The first section examines the actors in Libya, the Gulf states, and Egypt. The second looks at challenges for societies, states and economies in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, and Jordan and Morocco. The third section analyzes the geopolitical implications of the Arab Spring, including the significance of these events for US policy towards Arab countries. The fourth section addresses the challenges and opportunities for European policy in the areas of energy and migration.
