This paper examines whether Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uganda are at risk of back sliding on their recent successes. It does this by first depicting how Africa might be affected by the global financial crisis and then by discussing each country in detail. The authors conclude that some countries are seriously at risk of being affected by the current (2008) global financial crisis and make some policy recommendations to prevent such an event.
