This publication discusses the role of religion in the making of US foreign policy. The author examines the religious right in the US and its influence on the foreign policy of President George W. Bush. He argues that while the rise of religious right has pushed the US towards a more conflictual stance vis-à-vis certain other states, it might, paradoxically, facilitate dialog between the US and the Islamic world due to policy similarities in matters such as abortion rights, HIV/AIDS, and human cloning.
