The author examines the share of foreign news coverage in a number of countries: Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, UK, US, South Africa, and Arab countries. It finds that TV programming all over the world is characterized more by the differences than by the common ground: Arab channels, for instance, focus extensively on the Iraqi and Palestinian conflicts.
