This piece summarizes trends in media coverage of the United Nations from January 2002 to May 2004. It argues that the United Nations must address its public image crisis, which was worsened by findings relating to the 'Oil for Food' program. These findings picture the UN and many of its leaders in a light of corruption, secrecy and lack of liability.
