This issue of the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst includes analytical articles and field reports on security issues facing the Central Asia-Caucasus region in May 2011. The analytical articles examine the border dispute between Russia and Abkhazia; Georgia's role as a veto player in Russian WTO accession negotiations; the potential effect of a round of public offerings on levels of inequality in Kazakhstan; and the failure of the peace process in the North Caucasus. In addition, some shorter field reports provide accounts of the launch of a communications satellite in Azerbaijan; Armenian agricultural reforms; ethnic conflict in Kyrgyzstan; and Tajikistan's efforts to reduce dependence on Russian oil.
