In this paper, the author highlights some of the corporate finance literature on the effects of the introduction of the euro. He focuses on the development of the corporate bond market in Europe and its effects. He also estimates the monetary benefits to Finnish companies that are attributable to the improved access to bond financing enjoyed by Finnish companies.
