This issue brief examines how the regional conflict structure and its current permutation facilitates a more activist foreign policy for India as Pakistan's domestic problems keep increasing. The author argues that the question of Pakistan's disintegrating domestic realm and the ramifications of this on national security calculi has not been factored into considerations of Afghanistan's postwithdrawal phase.
