This paper examines efforts to mediate armed conflict violence in Sulu, southern Philippines. The paper focuses on the particular experience of six select communities in the region. The goal of the research is to discover current community practices in mediating violence, and effective policies (customary and legislated) that support a positive environment for peace building.
