This paper presents initial results of research investigating the relationship between the health system and the pharmaceutical industry in Brazil, Argentina, and the United Kingdom. The research strategy involves the analysis of the structure of industrial production in the targeted countries, and identification of the perceptions and actions taken by the relevant actors (governments in the health area, and representative bodies of the industry).
