This paper analyzes the process of nation building in the ethnically diverse Southern Caucasus region, using Georgia as a case study. The transition to a nation state is conceptualized using three analytical variables: historical geography and perception, sociopolitical, and economic-transition levels. The authors conclude with a series of recommendations aiming to strengthen political development processes through multicultural understanding in cross-generational terms.
