This monograph examines the spread of HIV/AIDS as a security threat in the context of the cross-border migration at the Bangladesh-India border. Such a security threat is broadly captured from a perspective of non-traditional security, which places an emphasis on the security of people. By uncovering the realities that explain the nature of cross-border migration and sexual habits of the migrants, this paper explores to what extent these human security threats have an effect on the region's level of socioeconomic development. The author concludes with calls for increased political policy attention to the spread of HIV/AIDS along territorial border regions.
