In this paper the author weighs the Eurasian post-electoral revolutions against social movements or revolution theories. He argues that the latter fail to take into account the influence of communication management, the mass media, and the discursive investments of political actors present in the former. As practical examples the author concentrates on the so-called Rose Revolution in Georgia in 2003, the Orange Revolution in Ukraine in 2004, and the Tulip Revolution in Kyrgyzstan in 2005. All of them were processes in which an abrupt transfer of power took place by non-institutionalized means.
