This paper discusses possible scenarios after the 2020 expiration of the Cotonou Agreement which regulates relations between the EU and the African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (ACP States). The author argues that there are more and more signs that there may be no common agreement at all after 2020. The Cotonou Agreement could simply be put to rest after its expiration, if a structure of equivalent quality is set up in its place.
