The commentary discusses the ongoing conflict between forces pushing for global governance and those pushing for the maintenance of the centrality of the nation-state in the international system. In the final analysis the conflict between global governance and the liberal democratic nation-state is a moral conflict, and the side that seizes and holds the moral high ground will prevail.
