This report assesses political, security and economic issues that have arisen in Syria during the week of July 11, 2012. The UNSC remains deeply divided over Syria, however recent rebel successes may soon sway the minds in Moscow and Beijing to more aggressively support a transition plan as President Assad’s leadership becomes increasingly untenable.
