This report consists of nine case studies for UN complex operations and special political missions. Each case study lays out the mandate of the mission with respect to police, justice and corrections operations or development support to the host state. Each briefly sets the political, social and physical context for the mission and notes any shocks to the system experienced shortly before or anytime during the deployment of the mission (e.g., serious outbreaks of violence, natural disasters, etc.).
