This monograph studies Russian foreign policy, concentrating on Russia's interests in the Middle East. Under the leadership of President Putin, Russia has adopted a new political activist approach, attempting to challenge the existing international order. According to the author, the goal is to strengthen Russia's stature in the face of the international economic and security challenges it faces.
