This publication discusses developments in the Syrian conflict, such as the deployment of Patriot surface-to-air missiles to Turkey, and a hypothesis how the conflict could end. According to this hypothesis, the regime might retreat back to the Alawite stronghold of Latakia province with much of the Alawite military intact, including much of its feared ballistic missiles and chemical weaponry.
