Based on evidence that suggests an increase in the level of terrorist infiltrations and ceasefire violations across the Line of Control (LoC) with India, this brief argues Pakistan is changing its security strategy. With a favorable alignment of forces in Afghanistan and reduction of pressure from the United States, the Pakistani Army will be able to disengage some of its forces deployed on its western front and reinforce areas bordering India. In order to redirect terrorists and justify the re-alinement of its forces, the author expects the Pakistan Army to create tension at the LoC.
