Spending on social programs to alleviate poverty and address the overall economic needs of the vulnerable segments of the population has been an integral part of the Bangladesh government’s strategy to tackle poverty. This paper analyzes and evaluates the country’s social safety nets and allocation of resources. It also looks at the beneficiaries’ perception of and the leaks within the system.
