This paper examines India's performance at the UN Security Council from 2011-2013. It discusses India’s own political achievements as well as the value it has brought to Council proceedings and deliberations on tackling important global issues like terrorism and piracy. The authors highlight India’s role as a diplomatic mediator and its activity in the processes of the Security Council and conclude that India did indeed prove itself to be worthy of a permanent seat in the council.
