This commentary analyzes US border policy. After looking at the North-South Korean and Europe's Schengen Area border policies, the author explores the results and the challenges of the US Customs and Border Protection plan. He argues that the joint border management with Mexico represents a valuable and enduring shift in US policy, both for overall security and economic efficiency.
