This brief discusses South Korea’s Park Geun-hye administration's likely foreign policy, domestic challenges, and implications for the US-ROK alliance. The author argues that as Park begins her tenure as head of state, it seems likely that her administration will continue strengthening South Korea's relationship with the United States. The success of her initiatives, however, will also depend on the skill of her administration to overcome domestic political challenges.
