This report examines two of the challenges Turkey is facing as a result of Syria's civil war – providing cross-border aid and coping with Syrian refugees in the border province of Hatay, which epitomizes the humanitarian and security problems Turkey confronts. (Note: Turkey has welcomed up to 450,000 Syrian refugees thus far but it is unlikely that it will sustain this pace if the civil war continues and the international community does not share Ankara's burdens.)
