This paper looks at the various political actors that have shaped events in post-revolutionary Libya. It clarifies the interests that drive them, the alliances they've entered into, and the rifts that still separate them. The author further argues that characterizing their quarrels as a struggle between secular and liberal forces within the country is misleading. The main dividing line is between those who gained from the revolution and those who lost out, particularly at the local level.
