This paper talks about the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) which emerged as a ‘new’ response to challenges related to the proliferation of materials and technologies for weapons of mass destruction. It explores the key issues associated with the PSI for states considering participation. It also examines the key challenges facing PSI and provides a number of recommendations to overcome them.
