This brief analyzes the visit of the new Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to Pakistan in May 2013. According to the author, the bedrock of China-Pakistan relations, based upon strategic and security considerations, remains strong, despite unsettling developments within Pakistan. He also writes that, China continues to be deeply interested in longer-term strategic cooperation with Pakistan where there are shared interests between the two countries.
