This brief looks at three major factors arising from the 2013 Pakistani elections which could have an affect on relations with India. The first factor is the new prime minister's relationship with the military in Pakistan, the second concerns his ability to deal with the rising levels of Islamic extremism within Pakistan and the third relates to improving economic ties with India.
