This Issue Brief claims that Pakistan's radical Islamists were the true winners in the nation's 2013 elections. This 'victory', however, does not mean they will immediately push their Islamic agenda in Pakistan. Instead, they will focus their energies on Afghanistan, where they can take on a departing NATO and a weak Karzai government.
