This report explores how Denmark has contributed to strengthening political and military security in East Africa. The author illuminates some of the risks associated with these capacity building projects and identifies some of the challenges impeding cooperation between the Danish Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense. The concluding section of the report discusses some lessons learned and presents considerations for future capacity building programs in Africa.
