This commentary addresses the dispute between the US and China over reconnaissance operations in the other's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The author argues that the US’s acceptance of Chinese operations in its EEZ indicate there could be hopes for US activities in China's EEZ to be accepted as well.
