This issue of JEMIE deals with non-territorial autonomy and its use by civil minorities and governments alike. The volume begins with a general discussion of the culture of non-territorial autonomy in theory and practice. It then focuses on non-territorial autonomy in Central and Eastern Europe during and after communism, before looking at the relationship between non-territorial autonomy and national identity. The volume concludes with an article on the deterritorialization of minority rights in Europe.
