In this testimony before the US House Armed Services Committee, the speaker provides insight into the US rebalancing in the Asia-Pacific region. He argues that achieving strategic balance in the Asia-Pacific requires a clear understanding of US interests, regional and global trends, and a realistic plan for linking finite means to objectives. If the US is to succeed, it will have to adapt its armed forces to balance existing capacity while investing in future capability in what is largely a maritime and air domain.
