This brief examines the positions of Amartya Sen and Jagdish Bhagwati on the right economic model for India. Their different views on economic growth and development have led to a sensationalizing of the debate. The author argues that it is better to accept that both espouse the same ‘end’: a healthy and prosperous Indian economy, albeit through different means.
