This paper talks about how Europe can move forward on a number of important reforms so that it can deal with pressing issues such as the eurozone crisis. To this end, the authors put forth a 'European agenda' which suggests that to face the recession, the EU needs improved economic integration. It also says that political integration and legitimacy can pave the way for military integration. Finally, for Europe to sustain its positive leadership role in global affairs, serious attention must be given to climate change issues.
