This study analyzes the transition in Tunisia since 2012. Based on a field survey it examines the following questions: Who governs what transition? To what degree are the post-authoritarian institutions really democratic? To which scenarios might the transition lead? The author analyzes the political regime and the developments in the country and concludes that instability may result in another popular uprising, authoritarianism or a transition. It may also result in the emergence of a hybrid regime and democratization.
